Reentry Spotlight

Reentry Spotlight: Returning Citizens Magazine

GTL is honored to highlight Returning Citizens Magazine as our new partner to help justice-involved individuals better prepare for reentry by offering access to the publication on GTL tablets at participating facilities.

The mission of Returning Citizens Magazine expands beyond the walls of correctional facilities by also serving as a lighthouse for those on their journey reentering society.

The magazine features second-chance employers, correctional industry jobs and apprenticeships, technology information, and general reentry news. Issues on the magazine app will offer other valuable resources such as learning how to expunge a felony, second-chance housing, and inmate reentry programs.

“The magazine’s goal has always been to be a helpful resource for returning citizens, as well as their families and friends, and to help them figure out how to resume their lives after their sentences have been completed,” says Todd Dubose, Returning Citizens Magazine CEO. “The magazine’s inclusion on GTL tablets opens up an entire new world to the material that we publish, and it opens up an entire new world for those incarcerated individuals who need assistance getting their lives back on track.”

GTL agrees. “For incarcerated individuals preparing for reentry, Returning Citizens Magazine is an invaluable resource,” says Pelicia Hall, Senior Vice President of Reentry at GTL. “Information about jobs and apprenticeships, not to mention the other resources they provide like second-chance housing and access to legal resources, are vital in the transition from incarceration to reentry.”
