Expanding Our Support through New Partnerships and Services

The past year has forced us to recognize a new normal, which can be scary. However, it has also shown us how we can band together to overcome anything. As we begin to navigate 2021, we here at GTL want to emphasize our unwavering commitment to our customers, especially those joining us for the first time.
With that said, I would like to extend a special welcome to our new family and friends customers! We recently implemented phone services at Florida Department of Corrections (FLDOC) and expanded services at California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR)! This increase in communications will improve connections and reentry success.
As part of our commitment to investing in education and reentry, we added several new resources to our tablets in 2021. The new Art Therapy app addresses mental health, supporting incarcerated individuals in regulating their emotions and behaviors, enhancing relationships, and learning better communication skills.
To assist with job skills, the combination of GTL and EDWINS Leadership & Restaurant Institute is a recipe for success, bringing a foundation of knowledge about the culinary arts and hospitality industries inside correctional facilities with a new tablet app. Upon release, participants can go on to participate in the full program.
Earlier this year, Congressional leaders reinstated Pell grants for prison education programs and the incarcerated students who take part in them, as well as making them available once again to college students who were previously convicted of a drug crime. As a company, we have seen firsthand how education can positively impact incarcerated individuals, which is why GTL openly supported passage of this bill.
We have also spent the first part of 2021 expanding our partnerships. I am very excited about partnering with organizations that help returning citizens, incarcerated individuals, and their family and friends, and this is just the beginning of a long, rewarding journey. GTL is able to provide more opportunities for returning citizens, offer more access to rehabilitation programs, and provide educational resources than we would be able to do on our own.
As a company, we continue to move forward and innovate the way we conduct business to the benefit of all our stakeholders. It is going to be a very exciting year.
